The Internship Program (originally the Summer Internship Program) was created to provide first or second year optometry students with an opportunity to find a summer position at an optometric clinic, and promote learning and mentorship between ODs and optometry students. We have now expanded the job board to the school months to allow for local job opportunities during the school year. The program mutually benefits optometrists and students alike. Optometrists are able to find coverage for staff vacations and extra help over the busy summer months. In addition, the unique opportunity allows students to apply their optometric knowledge, patient relations skills, and optical dispensing skills in an office setting.
