CONTEST WINNERS 2020-2021

CAOS is pleased to announce and congratulate the winners of the 2020-2021 Aperture writing and artwork contest!

The Aperture writing & artwork contest is an annual writing and photography/design competition dedicated to our association’s publication, Aperture magazine. Aperture is an online magazine made by optometry students for optometry students, and it serves as a platform for the student voice. Every year, our contests aim to spark ideas and nurture creativity from among the fledgling members of optometry as a profession.

Both contests are free to enter for CAOS members who are Canadian residents outside the province of Quebec. For the 2020-2021 year, CAOS suggested the contest theme “changing perspectives” to reflect on current world events. Applicants were invited to write on any topic of their choosing, with few restrictions or requirements placed on style of prose or subject matter to encourage self-expression; we also expanded the scope of our photography contest to include digital artwork and graphic design.

Without further ado, we present our winners below!
